Why we built this

Most practice-test sites are either ad-stuffed or paywalled, and many recycle questions of dubious quality from each other.

247SimpleTests is different. Every practice question is written by our editorial team against the current official source: state DMV handbooks, the FMCSA Commercial Driver's License Manual, USCIS civics materials, state insurance and real estate commission candidate handbooks, and other public-domain government sources. Every question lists the section it was drawn from.

Reviewing your answers will explain not just what's right, but why — and tell you which topics to revisit next. That's the difference between memorising answers and actually being ready to pass.

Frequently asked

Are these practice tests really free?

Yes. Every test on 247SimpleTests is free to take, with no account required. We're supported by Amazon affiliate links to relevant prep books — you'll see them at the bottom of each quiz, and we never let them get in the way of the practice.

How accurate are your questions compared to the real exam?

Our questions test the same material as the official exams because they're written directly from the same source documents: state handbooks, federal manuals, and government civics materials. We don't reproduce or scrape questions from anywhere. Real exams change wording and add state-specific items, so passing here doesn't guarantee a pass on the real test — but it does mean you understand the material.

Do you cover state-specific differences?

For tests where state law matters — DMV permit, real estate, insurance, notary, and similar — we cover both the national/federal portion and state-specific content where available. State-specific question banks expand over time. Always read your state's official handbook in addition to practicing here.

Why do you cite sources on every question?

Test prep should be auditable. If you don't know whether to trust the explanation, you can read the original handbook section we drew from. It also keeps us honest: our editorial team can't slip in opinion or AI-generated guesses, because every claim has to trace back to an official source.

Will my progress be saved if I leave?

Yes, within 24 hours, on the device you used. We save your current question and answers in your browser's storage so you can resume. We don't send this data anywhere — there's no server, no account, and no tracking of your answers.
