Why this is the answer
Because the ASVAB does not subtract points for wrong answers, you should never leave a question blank — an unanswered question and a wrong answer both score zero, but a guess has a chance of being right. For a difficult Assembling Objects item you can't fully solve in the time available, first eliminate any choices you can tell are wrong (wrong shapes, mirror images, bad connection points, gaps), then make your best educated guess among the rest and move on. This maximizes your expected score across the whole subtest and keeps you from running out of time on later questions you could answer.
