Why this is the answer
A power drill spins a bit to bore holes in wood, metal, plastic, or masonry, depending on the bit used. With a screwdriver (driver) bit, many drills can also drive and remove screws, and a drill/driver or impact driver is commonly used for fastening. Selecting the correct bit type and size for the material is important, as is securing the workpiece and using steady pressure. The drill's core job — boring holes, and optionally driving fasteners — distinguishes it from saws (cutting) and sanders (smoothing). This is basic power-tool knowledge.
