What is the driver's response to a student reporting bullying or harassment?

When a student reports bullying or harassment to the driver, take it seriously. Listen to the student calmly without judgment; document the report with details (who, what, when, where, witnesses); reassure the student that the report will be acted on; pass the report to the school administration as soon as practical. Do not confront the alleged bully directly or attempt mediation — schools have procedures for this and the driver is not trained or authorized to investigate. Do not tell the student to handle it themselves or to 'just ignore it' — both responses fail the student and may worsen the situation. A student who feels heard is more likely to report future incidents.
