About the Montana Notary exam
Montana Secretary of State. Like every state, Montana adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Commission term: 4 years.
- Montana notaries are appointed by the Secretary of State; must be a Montana resident and at least 18.
