About the New Mexico Notary exam
New Mexico Secretary of State. Like every state, New Mexico adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- New Mexico notaries are commissioned by the Secretary of State; must be a resident and at least 18.
