About the Arizona CDL exam
The Arizona CDL exam is administered by the Arizona Department of Transportation. Like every state, Arizona adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $25.
- Skills testing: Arizona MVD authorized third-party CDL testers.
- Arizona allows CDL skills testing through an extensive network of authorized third-party testing sites, often reducing wait times.
To get started, read the official Arizona handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 80%, and then schedule your exam with the Arizona Department of Transportation.
What's in the Arizona exam: Practice tests for the Commercial Driver's License written exam. Questions reflect the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Commercial Driver's License Manual that all states adopt as the basis for their CDL exams.
