The Kansas CDL exam is administered by the Kansas Division of Vehicles. Like every state, Kansas adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $18.
- Skills testing: Kansas DMV division of vehicles testing sites.
- Kansas offers one of the lowest CDL licensing fees in the nation and has no separate HazMat supplement test beyond the federal knowledge exam.
To get started, read the official Kansas handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 80%, and then schedule your exam with the Kansas Division of Vehicles.
What's in the Kansas exam: Practice tests for the Commercial Driver's License written exam. Questions reflect the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Commercial Driver's License Manual that all states adopt as the basis for their CDL exams.
