About the Oregon CDL exam
The Oregon CDL exam is administered by the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services. Like every state, Oregon adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $15 per year.
- Skills testing: Oregon DMV CDL licensing offices.
- Oregon uses an annual renewal model for CDL licensing and was an early adopter of the FMCSA Electronic CDL (eCDL) tracking system.
To get started, read the official Oregon handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 80%, and then schedule your exam with the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services.
What's in the Oregon exam: Practice tests for the Commercial Driver's License written exam. Questions reflect the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Commercial Driver's License Manual that all states adopt as the basis for their CDL exams.
