About the Texas CDL exam
The Texas CDL exam is administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Like every state, Texas adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Skills testing: Texas DPS driver's license offices or third-party CDL skills test sites.
