About the Utah CDL exam
The Utah CDL exam is administered by the Utah Driver License Division. Like every state, Utah adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $52.
- Skills testing: Utah Driver License Division locations.
- Utah is one of the few states that maintains its own state CDL knowledge test in addition to the federal knowledge requirements for select endorsements.
To get started, read the official Utah handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 80%, and then schedule your exam with the Utah Driver License Division.
What's in the Utah exam: Practice tests for the Commercial Driver's License written exam. Questions reflect the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Commercial Driver's License Manual that all states adopt as the basis for their CDL exams.
