About the Michigan Insurance exam
The Michigan Insurance exam is administered by the Michigan Secretary of State. Like every state, Michigan adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $50 exam fee.
- Michigan uses PSI Exams; criminal background check required.
To get started, read the official Michigan handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 70%, and then schedule your exam with the Michigan Secretary of State.
