About the Washington NCLEX exam
The Washington NCLEX exam is administered by the Washington Department of Licensing. Like every state, Washington adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- NCLEX + state licensing fee: approximately $200 NCLEX fee + $88 WA fee.
- State nursing board: Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC).
- Washington is NOT an NLC member; Washington State's strong technology sector healthcare system and major academic medical centres create significant demand for nurses.
To get started, read the official Washington handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 70%, and then schedule your exam with the Washington Department of Licensing.
What's in the Washington exam: Practice questions modeled on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN), organized by client need category as defined by the NCSBN test plan.
