About the Mississippi Notary exam
The Mississippi Notary exam is administered by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. Like every state, Mississippi adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Mississippi notaries are appointed by the Governor through the Secretary of State; must be a Mississippi resident.
