About the Washington Notary exam
The Washington Notary exam is administered by the Washington Department of Licensing. Like every state, Washington adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Commission term: 4 years.
- Washington notaries are commissioned by the Secretary of State; must be a Washington resident; remote online notarization authorized.
