About the Michigan Real Estate exam

The Michigan Real Estate exam is administered by the Michigan Secretary of State. Like every state, Michigan adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

  • Exam / licence fee: approximately $79 exam fee; $88 license fee.
  • Michigan requires 40 hours of pre-licensing education; the Bureau of Professional Licensing administers licensing.
