About the Michigan Real Estate exam
The Michigan Real Estate exam is administered by the Michigan Secretary of State. Like every state, Michigan adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $79 exam fee; $88 license fee.
- Michigan requires 40 hours of pre-licensing education; the Bureau of Professional Licensing administers licensing.
To get started, read the official Michigan handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 75%, and then schedule your exam with the Michigan Secretary of State.
