About the South Dakota Real Estate exam
The South Dakota Real Estate exam is administered by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. Like every state, South Dakota adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $75 exam fee; $225 license fee.
- South Dakota requires 116 hours of pre-licensing education; the SDRECL administers licensing.
