About the Illinois Motorcycle exam
The Illinois Motorcycle exam is administered by the Illinois Secretary of State. Like every state, Illinois adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.
- Exam / licence fee: approximately $5 endorsement.
- Illinois CYCLE RIDER SAFETY TRAINING program offers MSF courses; completion waives the Secretary of State road test.
To get started, read the official Illinois handbook (linked above), practice with the tests on this page until you consistently score above 80%, and then schedule your exam with the Illinois Secretary of State.
What's in the Illinois exam: Practice tests for the motorcycle endorsement written exam. Questions reflect the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum and state-specific motorcycle operator manuals.
