About the Pennsylvania DMV Permit exam
The Pennsylvania DMV Permit exam is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Like every state, Pennsylvania adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Pennsylvania requires 65 hours of supervised driving (10 at night) for applicants under 18; the permit period is 6 months minimum.
