About the Utah DMV Permit exam
The Utah DMV Permit exam is administered by the Utah Driver License Division. Like every state, Utah adopts the federal standards as a baseline and adds state-specific requirements, fees, and procedures.

- Utah requires 40 hours of supervised driving (10 at night) for applicants under 17; the permit period is minimum 6 months.
